Spring is officially here, and what better place to begin your spring cleaning than your lingerie drawer? Having underwear that you adore to put on first thing in the morning can be a great mood booster, as can changing into sleepwear that makes you feel 100% relaxed, cozy and ready to unwind at the end of the day.
So, if there are things in your collection that just aren’t making you smile any more – or perhaps never did – then we say it’s time to wave goodbye to them, and create space for new items you will love to wear.

1. Items that no longer fit
Garments wear out over time, and bodies change size and shape. You might have loved the fit of that much-worn bra when it was brand new, but if the band has stretched out or the cups are now digging in, it’s time for a replacement. The same goes for any panties that have lost their elastic – no one feels fabulous in sagging underwear!

2. Items that never fit
It’s happened to the best of us: you buy something online, don’t like the fit, and forget to return it until it’s too late. Or perhaps you tried it on in store and thought it seemed fine in the fitting room, but once you actually wore it for a full day, you realized it was quite uncomfortable. That could be underwear that digs in or rolls down, a lace that’s scratchy and irritating, or an underwire that just won’t stop jabbing you.
It’s easy to relegate these garments to the back of your underwear drawer and forget about them, but why hang onto something you’re not going to wear?

3. Items with damage
“I feel gorgeous in old, greyed underwear” said no one, ever! If your lingerie has become discolored through being washed with other colors, or has stubborn stains you just can’t get rid of, it’s time for it to go. The same is true of anything that is frayed, ripped, faded, or otherwise damaged.
Replace it with new and trust us, you’ll feel so much more stylish and put-together – even in your simple, everyday basics!

4. Items you haven’t worn for a long time
As we’ve already said, there’s no point allowing lingerie or sleepwear you’re not actually using to take up precious storage space. So, when spring cleaning, really dig through everything you own and ask yourself, when was the last time I wore this?
Maybe the condition is totally fine but you just no longer love the style. Maybe you do love the look, but the fabric makes you sweat horribly when you wear it. Or maybe you just forgot that you owned it! Whatever the reason, either rearrange your closet or panty drawer so that these neglected styles are within eyesight and will get worn from now on, or let them go.
Out with the old, in with the new? Once you’ve finished your spring lingerie clear-out, it’s a great moment to review what’s left and identify any gaps in your collection. You might find, for example, that many of the everyday panties you’d been regularly wearing were worn out and now you need to stock up on new ones. Or you might find that you’ve been wearing the same much-loved nightgown or PJ set over and over, in which case why not buy duplicates in the same or different colors?
