Creators of fine quality lingerie since 1914, we’re still a family-owned company to this day which now comprises three brands:
Shadowline®, Velrose® and Dixie Belle®

Both made in the US from 100% nylon tricot, they each provide an amazingly light and smooth feel – one with unrivaled opacity and a fabulous drape, and the other with a floatier fit, semi-sheer look, and pearlescent finish.
Above all though, it’s our dedication to consistently high quality that has kept us in business through all of these years. For example, we trim our fabrics with soft laces and non-scratchy embroideries, for pretty touches you’ll love having right next to your skin. High-grade charmeuse gives our satin pieces a silk-like appearance at a more affordable price point, and many of our satin and cotton batiste garments are cut on the bias – a premium sewing technique which leads to clothing that skims beautifully (and comfortably!) around the body.
Plus, we’re size inclusive! Our ranges are offered up to a 3X in sleepwear, a 5X in many skirt slips, and a size 50 in selected camisoles and slip dresses to accommodate and flatter fuller busts. Additionally, our Dixie Belle® underwear is available in extended sizing up to a size 15, which fits up to 60” hips. But no matter which size you choose, you can rely on Shadowline® sleepwear to offer a sumptuous and forgiving fit.
Similar to the generous fit of our sleepwear, Shadowline® panties are distinctive for their traditional full-brief shape, popular both with those who want a retro look and those who simply appreciate the enhanced coverage and comfort. For the customer who wants something more contemporary, we also offer hipsters and high-cut legs. Made from the same silky-soft nylons as the sleepwear, these panties come in a choice of pure nylon (for a true vintage fit and feel) or a nylon-spandex blend, and are finished with a sewn-in crotch of breathable cotton.
In need of a slip? No matter the outfit, we’ve got a style to suit it!
Our product range includes full slips, half slips, pettipants, pettilegs, culottes, and pant liners, made in a variety of fabrics, colors, and lengths. You’ll love the convenience of our Velrose® Snip-It collection with parallel rows of lace at the hem, which can be individually snipped away (no sewing required!) if you need to shorten it.
