Five things to think about when packing lingerie & sleepwear

1.       What you’ll be doing

What’s your vacation style? Relaxing by the pool and hiking up a mountain call for two very different packing strategies. Bras need more frequent washing if you’re sweating, so if this is an active trip, pack more as well as choosing breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics. Remember your sports bra if the itinerary calls for one.

Planning to spend all day, every day in your swimsuit? In that case, you can probably get away with less lingerie than you might otherwise need to take.

2.       What the weather will be doing

What’s the climate like at your chosen destination? Even if the most strenuous activity you plan to do is hit up the local shops, if it’s 100 degrees outside and humid, you’re still going to sweat and need to switch out your bra more often. If you’re taking sun dresses, do any of them call for a strapless or multiway bra? If you’re taking garments in lighter fabrics, are they at risk of going a bit transparent in strong sunshine? 4.       Who else will be there?

A strenuous, 7-day hiking trip with no access to a launderette? Take seven bras. A week of exploring air-conditioned museums while staying in an Airbnb with a washing machine? You might get away with as few as two.
